Despite the White House’s initial refusal to provide them, the House Oversight Committee now has documents related to Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s security clearances thanks to a source inside the White House, Axios reported.

A senior Democratic aide who handled the document told Axios that the paperwork is “part of the puzzle that we would be asking for” from the White House “so we appreciate having this upfront.” The documents leaked to the House Oversight Committee detail the process the two Trump family members went through to get their security clearances between the spring of 2017 and the spring of 2018, Axios reported.

Earlier this week, the White House declined to provide the committee with documents related to the process through which Kushner and Ivanka Trump obtained security clearances.

According to recent reports, Trump demanded that Kushner and his daughter receive clearances despite guidance against it from intelligence officials and his White House staff. These reports prompted House Democrats to push harder to obtain information on the security clearance process.
