White House counselor Kellyanne Conway deflected questions from “Fox and Friends” hosts about Michael Cohen’s opening testimony before Congress Wednesday, insisting instead that the media should focus on President Trump’s summit with Kim Jong-un.
She then reiterated Trump’s favorite talking point on Cohen: He “lied.”
“Remember too that I think the President’s statement yesterday is instructive,” she said. “If the last time you’ve been before this body you admitted that you lied, then people are going, people are going to know that and see that. Look, I think it’s a human tragedy whenever somebody goes to jail, I get that in these circumstances but at the same time, folks, don’t lie to Congress.
During his hearing before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, Cohen intends to testify that Trump knew in advance about the WikiLeaks dump of DNC emails and the Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer
