President Donald Trump threw a fit on Sunday night after “60 Minutes” aired an interview with Chris Krebs, the Department of Homeland Security’s top cybersecurity official whom he fired for deflating Trump and his allies’ unproven conspiracy theories about mass voter fraud.
“.@60Minutes never asked us for a comment about their ridiculous, one sided story on election security, which is an international joke,” Trump tweeted before parroting the same baseless accusations claiming that the election “was probably our least secure EVER!”
During the interview, Krebs dug in his heels on his conclusion that the 2020 election was “the most secure in American history,” telling “60 Minutes” that he “stands by that” assessment.
The former DHS official had also stood firm shortly after Trump fired him via Twitter, writing “honored to serve. We did it right” in a tweet of his own.
Trump has been unable to prove any of his claims alleging mass voter fraud had tainted the election, which saw the President lose decisively to President-elect Joe Biden.
