President Donald Trump on Thursday tweeted a poll featured on Fox Business Network that appeared to show him enjoying a 55% approval rating. But as Fox Business later acknowledged in an on-air correction, the poll actually found a 55% “unfavorable” impression of Trump.

That tweet featured a poll that was not entirely accurate, which Fox Business would like to correct,” Fox Business’ Blake Burman said on air Thursday morning. The incorrect graphic first appeared on air Wednesday night, on Lou Dobbs’ show.

The Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Public Service poll in question found a 55% unfavorable impression of Trump, compared to a 41% favorable impression and four percent “no opinion.”

Even more of those polled — 57% to 37% — thought a new person should be elected president in 2020, rather than Trump.

The same poll found 52% disapproval of the job Trump was doing as President, compared to 43% approval and five percent unsure.

The portion of the Fox Business graphic showing 58% approval of Trump’s economic performance, compared to 38% disapproval and 5% unsure, is accurate.

Georgetown said the poll surveyed 1,000 registered and “likely” voters between March 31 and April 4. The results had a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
