President Donald Trump tweeted on Saturday night that former White House counsel Don McGahn had a “much better chance” of getting fired than special counsel Robert Mueller.
Trump insisted that he “was NOT” going to fire Mueller amid the special counsel’s Russia investigation.
“Actually, lawyer Don McGahn had a much better chance of being fired than Mueller,” Trump tweeted. “Never a big fan!”
I was NOT going to fire Bob Mueller, and did not fire Bob Mueller. In fact, he was allowed to finish his Report with unprecedented help from the Trump Administration. Actually, lawyer Don McGahn had a much better chance of being fired than Mueller. Never a big fan!

The President’s tweet is likely a response to recent reports that McGahn had rejected the White House’s request last month to publicly state Trump had not obstructed justice in the Russia probe.
The House Judiciary Committee is trying to get McGahn to testify about Mueller’s findings detailed in his report.
