Really?
After the Kansas City Chiefs, a team that hails from Missouri, won the Super Bowl on Sunday night, President Donald Trump took it upon himself to congratulate the wrong state.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure,” he tweeted at 10:15 PM EST. “You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well.”
Additionally, Slate reporter Ashley Feinberg noted that the White House retweeted Trump’s erroneous post.
Apparently realizing his mistake, Trump deleted the tweet a little over ten minutes later and posted a new one at 10:27 PM.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game and a fantastic comeback under immense pressure,” he wrote in the new tweet. “We are proud of you and the Great State of Missouri.”
This isn’t the first time the President has struggled with basic U.S. geography. Last October, he bragged about building his U.S.-Mexico border wall in…Colorado.
