David Bossie, who was recently appointed by the Trump campaign to oversee its legal efforts as it wages baseless claims of election fraud, has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
Bloomberg News was first to report Bossie’s COVID-19 diagnosis.
Bossie reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday on the White House campus. His COVID-19 diagnosis comes on the heels of White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past week.
Bossie was tapped by the Trump campaign to assist with its post-election legal strategy after Meadows tested positive on Wednesday.
Bossie is the president of the conservative nonprofit Citizens United and previously served as a deputy campaign manager on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Like Carson and Meadows, Bossie is among the Trumpworld figures who contracted COVID-19 after campaign-related events.
Fellow Trump campaign adviser, Corey Lewandowski, tweeted a photo last week showing that Bossie traveled to a campaign rally in Kenosha, Wisconsin with others in Trump’s orbit. The photo shows Bossie seated at a table with Lewandowski, former Republican National Committee Chair Reince Preibus, first daughter Tiffany Trump and her boyfriend Michael Boulos.
