Better not blame us if you catch COVID-19 at President Donald Trump’s rally, the Trump campaign tells supporters.
Those who register for Trump’s upcoming rally on June 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma must first agree they won’t hold the campaign legally responsible if they get infected with the coronavirus.
The event will be held at BOK Center, which can hold over 19,000 people.
“By clicking register below, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present,” a notice at the bottom of the registration form warns prospective attendees. “By attending the Rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; BOK Center; ASM Global; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.”
Trump has been itching to hold a rally for months even as health officials (including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) urge against attending mass events amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
