President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Mark Morgan, a former Obama-era Border Patrol chief, will lead the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

“Mark is a true believer and American Patriot,” Trump tweeted. “He will do a great job!”

Though he was the head of the Border Patrol under former President Barack Obama, Morgan has expressed support for Trump’s hardline immigration policies, including his infamous border wall.

“We need to do it all, including the wall,” Morgan told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto in January.

ICE acting director Ronald Vitiello resigned last month after Trump said he wanted to go in a “tougher direction” with immigration. Vitiello’s resignation came amid what some called a “purge” of officials at the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department, which included now-former Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
