Two years after being unceremoniously kicked out of the White House, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer returned to America’s TV screens on Monday night in his debut on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Twitter had plenty to say about Spicer spinning around in a salsa routine, from cracks about his heinous outfit to somber criticism of ABC’s decision to whitewash the reputation of an ex-White House staffer who repeatedly made false statements and lashed out at journalists on President Donald Trump’s behalf.
People were traumatized by Spicer’s blinding neon green shirt (complete with ruffles) alone:
I need a Twitter block button for any Sean Spicer/DWTS tweets after 9pm. No one should see this right before bed https://t.co/CrO88QHcxo

I was just flipping channels and thought I saw this. Then thought: no, there’s no way. It couldn’t be. And yet, here we are. I don’t remember which day Sean Spicer wore this top during a press briefing. https://t.co/q9YtUcdxXk

As in White House, Spicer ends up looking foolish and on his knees. pic.twitter.com/MPKzaznZDp

Others reminded the Twittersphere that Spicer had used his podium to falsely insist that Trump had the biggest inauguration crowd in American history, refer to Germany’s concentration camps as “Holocaust centers” and boost Trump’s infamous border wall (along with the lie that Mexico would pay for it), and that Spicer’s appearance on the show was an effort to get the country to forget all that:
To be clear, people aren't deriding Spicer on DWTS because he's GOP or he worked for Trump.
They're doing it because he repeatedly said false/ridiculous things with a straight face and now is being afforded an opportunity to be a "Star" not just despite that, but because of it.

problem with memeing spicer on DWTS is that it's clearly an attempt to get meme'd. the best memes are organic, authentic, and have its roots in some trauma that we totally shouldn't be laughing at

Sean Spicer got paid 6 figures for this. He's also a Harvard Kennedy fellow. He also got a book deal. He was also laughing it up at a DC party for journalists the day before the White House Correspondents Dinner. All will fail up. It's how this town works. https://t.co/ZRgbGe4Cvc
