The Supreme Court on Monday morning shot down ex-President Donald Trump’s legal team’s request to hear its lawsuit against the 2020 election results in Wisconsin, where Trump lost to now-President Joe Biden.
It was the final blow to Trump’s attempt to undo his defeat through flimsy lawsuits that consistently went down in flames.
The high court had already swatted down multiple suits the ex-president and his allies tried to advance with bogus allegations of election fraud or complaints about voting processes in certain battle ground states Biden won.
One of the most painful moments in Trump’s crusade came in December, when the Supreme Court quashed the case that Trump had hyped as “the big one,” in which Texas attorney general’s sued to get the votes in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia and Michigan thrown out.
Trump fumed over the Supreme Court’s inaction in his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last month.
“They didn’t have the guts or the courage to make the right decision,” he said.
