MSNBC host Joe Scarborough ended his Monday show with an entreaty to Sens. Ben Sasse (R-NE) and Mitt Romney (R-UT) to condemn President Donald Trump’s comments about a group of Democratic congresswomen of color.
“I’m going to be looking today at Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, other Republicans who in the past who have had the courage to speak out,” he said. “These are not the words of an American President we heard over the weekend. These are the words of David Duke, Klans members and white nationalists, neo-Nazis. They know it. They know it. They need to condemn it today.”

Trump this weekend tweeted that Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” provoking widespread accusations of racism. He has since doubled down.
