After issuing a warning on Thursday that Attorney General William Barr would be the “sleaziest” attorney general since John Mitchell if Barr floated conspiracy theories for President Trump during his presser, “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough piled on Barr again Friday, calling his “pathetic performance” the “most remarkable thing” about the Mueller report release day.
“I think the most remarkable thing about yesterday was the fact that a man who had had the respect of attorneys on both sides of the aisle, Attorney General Barr, humiliated himself, shamed himself by just a pathetic performance,” Scarborough said. “I’m not so sure that he didn’t do that — I’m not so sure he didn’t do that to gain actually the sort of notoriety he got yesterday. He took the heat from Donald Trump. You’ll notice yesterday half of the talk was about what Barr did and a lot of pundits couldn’t focus long enough on what Donald Trump did.”
During a press conference before the report was delivered to Congress, Barr did Trump’s bidding, touting “no collusion” and defending the President’s actions related to the obstruction portion of the probe.
