Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) — who offered mild rebukes of President Trump while he was in office and has remained lukewarm even in retirement — offered a vague prediction on the outcome of 2020.
During lecture in Florida on Monday, Ryan admitted he thinks there are “some Democrats” who could pull out a victory over Trump, according to the local TC Palm. He said if Trump wants to win reelection, he will need to focus his campaign more on policies, not personality.
“The person who defines that race is going to win the race. If this is about Donald Trump and his personality, he isn’t going to win it,” Ryan said, according to TC Palm.
