In a last-ditch effort to prove his loyalty to President Trump in the waning weeks of the mercurial President’s term, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Tuesday night thrust himself onto the pile of conservatives who are clutching their pearls after Jen O’Malley Dillon, who will serve as President-elect Joe Biden’s White House deputy chief of staff, slammed Republicans using — gasp! — a swear.
In an interview with Glamour published Tuesday, O’Malley Dillon took aim at Republicans, who she sees as having brushed off Biden’s push for unity by impeding Democrats in every way possible.
“In the primary, people would mock him, like, ‘You think you can work with Republicans?’ I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible,” O’Malley Dillon told Glamour. “But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that.”
Conservatives swiftly blasted the Biden aide for airing her explicit description of Republicans as they conveniently ignored President Trump’s history of issuing derogatory comments toward people and groups who stand at odds with him.
In September, Trump came under fire for reportedly calling fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers” as well as insisting that the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who spent more than five years as a POW and emerged as a prominent critic of Trump before his death in 2018, is “not a war hero.”
Loyal Trump foot soldier Rubio, whose poor attempt at painting Biden as an elitist backfired last month, once again stepped in it as he posted yet another misguided tweet on Tuesday night that insinuated O’Malley Dillon’s explicit description of Republicans:
