Republican Party chair Ronna McDaniel on Saturday night accused Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) of “parroting the Democrats’ talking points” on the Russia investigation.

The chairwoman was responding to Amash’s declaration that President Donald Trump had engaged in “impeachable conduct” and that General Attorney Bill Barr “intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s analysis and findings.”

“It’s sad to see Congressman Amash parroting the Democrats’ talking points on Russia,” McDaniel tweeted. “Voters in Amash’s district strongly support this President, and would rather their Congressman work to support the President’s policies that have brought jobs, increased wages and made life better for Americans.”

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), despite being the only other Republican who criticized Trump’s behavior detailed in the report, refused to join Amash’s call for impeachment on Sunday morning.

“My own view is that Justin Amash has reached a different conclusion than I have,” Romney told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “But I believe that to make a case for obstruction of justice, you just don’t have the elements that are evidenced in this document.”
