An NRA official emailed a Sandy Hook hoaxer to float his suspicion about the veracity of the Parkland shooting, according to a Wednesday HuffPost report.
In an email from his NRA address, Mark Richardson emailed Wolfgang Halbig, a perpetual harasser of parents of the Sandy Hook massacre victims, soon after the Florida shooting.
“Just like [Sandy Hook], there is so much more to this story. He was not alone,” Richardson wrote, referring to the shooter. “Just a few questions that have surfaced in the past 24 hours. Thank you for all the information and for what you do.”
Richardson told HuffPost that he was asking a “legitimate question.”
Neither Richardson nor the NRA immediately responded to a request for comment.
He also listed a series of questions about how the shooter gained entry to the school and where he kept all of his weaponry. He floated the possibility that there was a second shooter, a conspiracy theory that immediately cropped up on Alex Jones’ InfoWars, where Halbig is a contributor.
The email surfaced as part of the lawsuits Sandy Hook parents brought against Jones, who has led the charge in harassing the grieving parents and spouting nonsense about “crisis actors” and the “staging” of the massacre.
Halbig was on the front lines of terrorizing the parents, particularly pushing the bizarre conspiracy theory that six-year-old Avielle Richman was not actually murdered in the Sandy Hook shooting. Avielle’s father, Jeremy, died by suicide on Monday.
