Though she’s refused to officially certify Joe Biden as president-elect and is thereby blocking his transition process, General Services Administrator (GSA) Emily Murphy reportedly seems to recognize that the Democrat will prevail against the Trump administration’s stonewalling.
ABC News reported on Monday that it had obtained a recent message from Murphy to an acquaintance in which she asks about other job opportunities in the coming year.
A GSA official told TPM that the agency “denies this characterization and account” and that Murphy is “focused on doing her job, that’s it.”
The administrator has been under scrutiny in recent days over her role in President Donald Trump’s attempt to undermine Biden’s victory and falsely sow doubt on the legitimacy of the election. Murphy has declined to sign a letter declaring the “apparent winner” of the race that would give the Biden team the funds and resources needed to begin the transition to the new administration.
