President-elect Joe Biden is reportedly eyeing ex-fellow Democratic primary candidate Pete Buttigieg as his pick for ambassador to China.

Axios reported on Tuesday night that the former South Bend, Indiana mayor is a contender for that role. He’s also reportedly being considered to head the Transportation or Commerce departments, or some another leadership position in domestic affairs.

During the Democratic primaries, Buttigieg dropped out of the race two days before Super Tuesday and endorsed Biden, helping pave the way for the former vice president’s sweeping victory.
