Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX), President Donald Trump’s pick to replace DNI Dan Coats, may have clinched the nod during an aggressive performance at special counsel Robert Mueller’s hearings last week.
Sitting on both the House Intel and Judiciary Committees, Ratcliffe berated Mueller for putting Trump “below the law” by not presuming his innocence.
It’s not the first time Ratcliffe has used his committee positions to advocate for the President.
According to the Washington Post, he gleefully beat the dead horse of Hillary Clinton’s use of her private email account, along with insisting that the FBI is corrupted by bias. He has even floated that Russian meddling in 2016 somehow benefitted Clinton more than Trump.
He appeared on the Fox News on Sunday to applaud the President for having a “great week” as compared to the Democrats’ “train wreck.”
