Two days after submitting his final report on Russian election meddling and related matters to the attorney general, special counsel Robert Mueller, joined by his wife Ann Mueller, attended the morning service at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Lafayette Square on Sunday, steps away from the White House.
Photographers captured the Muellers — who’ve largely stayed out of the public eye during the special counsel’s 22-month investigation — attending the Sunday morning service at St. John’s, the so-called “Church of the Presidents” at which presidential attendance dates back to James Madison.
The President and first lady Melania Trump attended St. John’s just last week. In 2002, the Associated Press reported that Mueller, then the FBI director, was a “regular” at the church.
