House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said in the hallway on her way out of a meeting with the Democratic caucus that she had not yet read the White House’s record of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but intoned that “no one is above the law.”
“I haven’t seen it so I have just come from our own meeting,” Pelosi said. “But the transcript is — the fact is that the President of the United States, in breach of his constitutional responsibilities, has asked a foreign government to help him in his political campaign at the expense of our national security, as well as undermining the integrity of our elections. That cannot stand. He will be held accountable. No one is above the law.”
