House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) dismissed the notion that there are schisms within her caucus Sunday, minimizing the far-left contingent.
“By and large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center,” Pelosi told CBS’ Lesley Stahl. “That we have to…go down the mainstream.”
When Stahl pushed her, asking about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and the other prominent freshmen members, Pelosi was reductive. “That’s like five people,” she shrugged.
