Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), met with ex-President Donald Trump on Thursday amid the former leader’s war on the NRSC and the GOP’s other top fundraising arms, according to Politico’s Playbook.

Scott dined with Trump at the ex-president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida to discuss how they could team up and find suitable candidates for the 2022 midterms that Trump could support, including incumbents.

Politico reports that Trump still refused to retreat from his antipathy toward Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who was one of the few GOP senators who occasionally spoke out against Trump — including voted to convict him of inciting the insurrection — and is up for reelection in 2022. Last year, Trump vowed to campaign against Murkowski and endorse “any candidate” who would challenge her reelection bid.

On Friday afternoon, Scott touted his “great meeting” with Trump on Twitter and posted a photo of him beaming next to the former president at Mar-a-Lago:

Scott’s Mar-a-Lago visit follows Trump’s sustained attacks on the NRSC plus the Republican National Committee (RNC) and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), which began last week with a cease-and-desist letter from his lawyer ordering them to stop using his name and image for their fundraising efforts. Then the former president began telling his supporters to donate to his “Save America” political action committee instead of those three groups.
