Just hours after the mosque massacre in New Zealand that left at least 49 dead, the country’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, promised a change in national gun laws.
“While work is being done as to the chain of events that lead to both the holding of this gun license and the possession of these weapons, I can tell you one thing right now: Our gun laws will change,” she said at a news conference per CNN.
The suspect, Brenton Tarrant, had a gun license and reportedly used at least two semi-automatic weapons in the slaying.
