NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say two people are unaccounted for following an apparent gas explosion that leveled three buildings in Manhattan’s East Village.

The mayor’s office said Friday morning that the two individuals were not yet official missing person reports.

Nineteen people were injured, four critically after an apparent gas explosion sent flames soaring and debris flying on Thursday.

Preliminary evidence suggested a gas explosion amid plumbing and gas work inside the building was to blame.
