The Senate Intelligence Committee issued a subpoena to Donald Trump Jr. over his earlier testimony about the Russia probe before the same committee, according to Wednesday news reports.
Axios and NBC reported the news. Ken Dilanian, an NBC reporter, wrote on Twitter that Senate investigators want to ask Trump Jr. about Trump Tower Moscow.
The reported subpoena comes after suggestions that Trump Jr.’s September 2017 testimony before the Senate did not correspond to assertions made by Michael Cohen as part of his plea deal.
The transcript of Trump Jr.’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee has been released and show that he claimed he knew very little about the deal. Transcripts from his closed-door testimony before the Senate and House Intelligence Committees remain under wraps.
Alan Futerfas, an attorney for Don Jr., did not immediately return a request for comment.
