Welcome to the jungle.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin tussled with Axl Rose, the lead vocalist of rock band Guns N’ Roses, on Twitter on Wednesday night after the singer called the Trump official an “asshole.”
“It’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole,” Rose tweeted.
“What have you done for the country lately?” Mnuchin responded. He bookended the tweet with a Liberian flag emoji, apparently confusing it with the American flag.

The Treasury secretary deleted the post and tweeted his reply again, this time with the correct flag.
What have you done for the country lately? ??

But the mistake didn’t go unnoticed by Rose.
“My bad I didn’t get we’re hoping 2 emulate Liberia’s economic model,” the singer wrote in response to Mnuchin’s corrected tweet. “But on the real unlike this admin I’m not responsible for 70k+ deaths n’ unlike u I don’t hold a fed gov position of responsibility 2 the American people n’ go on TV tellin them 2 travel the US during a pandemic.”
Rose was referring to the Trump official saying on Fox Business earlier this week that right now is a “great time to explore America” despite the COVID-19 outbreak and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) warnings against non-essential travel.
“I wish I could get back on the road soon,” Mnuchin said during the interview.
