Former first lady Michelle Obama steered clear of the recent clash between Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and her husband’s former Vice President Joe Biden.
During an interview with Gayle King at the Essence Festival over the weekend, King asked Obama if she wanted to weigh in on the dust-up between the two 2020 candidates over Biden’s remarks about working with hard-line segregationists during his time in Congress and his former stance on busing.
“I do not,” Obama said, which was met with laughter from the crowd. “I’ve been doing this rodeo far too long. It’s like, ‘uh, no comment.'”

Obama didn’t weigh in on the 2020 race beyond that, saying that she and the former President would support whoever won the Democratic primary.
Biden apologized on Sunday evening for his remarks about working with segregationists: “I regret it. And I’m sorry for any of the pain or misconception I may have caused anybody,” he said.
