White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was met with derision on Sunday night after she attacked the Washington Post for reporting on President-elect Joe Biden’s newly announced communications team made up entirely of women.
“President @realDonaldTrump already has an ALL FEMALE Senior White House Press Team,” McEnany tweeted with a screenshot of the Post’s headline.
The White House official went on to gripe that “the completely DISCREDITED
@washingtonpost once again reveals their blinding propagandist Fake News proclivities.”
However, she apparently forgot that her own deputies, Judd Deere and Brian Morgenstern, are male. In fact, much of TPM’s outreach to the White House has been fielded by Deere.
Strangely enough, Deere himself retweeted McEnany’s complaint:
Besides Washington Post reporter Aaron Blake tearing down the Trump aide’s attack, the tweet prompted people to remind McEnany who was on her own communications team:
Wonder how Judd Deere, who answers most calls to that office, and Morgenstern feel upon learning this https://t.co/9hhSWPNbnj

Your own deputy press secretary, who you just hilariously erased, is a *man* named @JuddPDeere https://t.co/cfh09iUeGZ

It’s both funny and sad that McEnany got mad about an article about Biden’s comms team and insisted that the Trump admin also has an all-women comms team… when it clearly doesn’t. https://t.co/GMsruZ2kXc pic.twitter.com/s5NykSXbmX
