Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) says that Obama was “insulting every American” when he urged the country not to support politicians who speak derogatorily of the Muslim faith.

In a jab at rhetoric coming from GOP frontrunners like Donald Trump, Obama said Tuesday that “when politicians insult Muslims, when a mosque is vandalized, or a kid bullied, that doesn’t make us safer. That’s not telling it like it is … it’s just wrong.”

Rohrabacher said the section of the President’s speech “was very disturbing.”

“He is trying to recommend to us how we should feel about that faith. I think he was insulting every American who is not Islamophobia [sic], but is very concerned about what is going on,” Rohrabacher said.
