Paul Dodges Colbert On Poll Numbers: I Top ‘Worst Dressed’ List (VIDEO)

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) dodged a question from “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert about his low poll numbers on Wednesday night by focusing on a list he always tops: worst dressed.

“You’re a little bit down the (poll), you know. You’re behind Rubio and Carson and Christie, but you’re above Bush, Kasich and Huckabee,” Colbert told Paul. “The numbers in someway don’t really matter. What matters on this list is you’re all over 25 points behind a guy who builds golf courses for a living. Did you think actual governing experience would be a liability the way it is right now?”

Paul pauses and then grabs a different notecard from Colbert’s desk.

“There’s another list on the other side of your card and it says I was at the very top of this one,” Paul said an effort to slightly change the subject.

Which list, that isn’t a poll, does Paul top?

“Worst dressed,” he said.

Paul didn’t answer Colbert’s initial question or his low poll numbers. Real Clear Politics has him polling at 3 percent nationally.
