New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet said on Sunday that President Donald Trump has helped the paper gain subscribers.
“Trump is the best thing to happen to the Times’ subscription strategy, yes,” he said on CNN. “Every time he tweets it drives subscriptions wildly.”
Trump has railed against the New York Times since the campaign, along with other prominent news outlets, and he has repeatedly declared that the paper is “failing.” The President has also criticized the paper’s reporting on his administration, charging earlier in February that the Times was “making up sources.”
