Sen. Jim Risch (R-ID) may have become the third senator to endorse his colleague Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for president on Wednesday, according to Politico.
But he’s not sure.
Risch told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he would not be supporting frontrunner Donald Trump.
Cruz is the only choice, he said.
“Obviously, [John] Kasich is so far behind that it’s impossible really for him to get the numbers, so by process of elimination that gets you to Ted Cruz,” Risch said. “At this point, there’s no choice.”
Blitzer said Cruz is also endorsed by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Mike Lee (R-UT).
“Did I just endorse, Wolf?” Risch asked.
“I don’t know. You sort of said I prefer him over the other two. That sounds like an endorsement, doesn’t it?” Blitzer said.
“I guess it depends on your definition,” Risch said.
