Whoops! Fox News Accidentally Declares Trump The Winner In NH

Fox News accidentally reported Donald Trump as the winner in New Hampshire’s Republican primary on Tuesday morning – more than six hours before the polls closed.

With all precincts reporting, Fox published results showing Trump winning the first-in-the-nation primary with 28 percent of the vote, enough to secure 14 delegates, according to the premature numbers posted online Tuesday morning.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) came in second with 15 percent, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) polled at 12 percent, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 11 percent, each sharing three delegates in Fox News’ erroneous results.

Fox’s Chief Digital Officer Jeff Misenti told Politico: “during routine testing in preparation for the New Hampshire primary a malfunction occurred which briefly showed errant data on our website.”

Fox News’ election result page has since been corrected.

Conservative pundit Charles C.W. Cooke first flagged the errant results.
