During an appearance on “Late Night with David Letterman” on Tuesday, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper joined the chorus of voices condemning President Barack Obama for missing the massive unity rally that took place on Sunday in Paris.
But Cooper was particularly critical of Vice President Joe Biden, who, he suggested, was too busy watching TV to attend the demonstration.
The unity rally drew hundreds of thousands of marchers, including many world leaders. The White House didn’t send a senior official to the rally, a move the administration later conceded was a mistake.
Cooper said Biden had no excuse not to attend.
“He spends weekends watching, like, ‘Gilmore Girls,'” Cooper said. “I mean, what else does the vice president do?”
