Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski appeared on Fox News’ “MediaBuzz” Sunday to gripe about his Wednesday interview on CNN and to try to soften his bragging about not being honest with the media.
During his Sunday appearance, Lewandowski accused CNN host Alisyn Camerota of “pretending to be a journalist” after she interviewed him following his House Judiciary Committee appearance, angry that she asked a question premised on his stonewalling of the committee.
Fox host Howard Kurtz also pushed Lewandowski on his declaration during the hearing, under questioning by the Democrats’ staff attorney, that he feels “no obligation” to be honest with the media.
“I regret the fact that I should have probably explained it better and specifically as it related to my tenure in front of the special counsel, but I did that out of respect for the special counsel and the investigative process and at the advice of counsel so we didn’t spend countless hours answering these questions in the public while the investigation continued,” Lewandowski said, arguing that his remarks were taken out of context and only meant to refer to journalists’ questions about his interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
