2020 Democratic candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) criticized President Donald Trump on Sunday morning for his friendly phone call with Russian president Vladimir Putin, during which Trump declined to discuss Russia’s election meddling.
During an interview with Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” Klobuchar addressed her previous comment that Trump “has every reason not to protect” the upcoming 2020 elections.
“All I know is he’s not acting like the leader to protect our national security,” said Klobuchar. “He coddles up to Vladimir Putin, has a nice talk with him and never even brings this up, according to his own press secretary.”
