Sen Kit Bond (R-MO) said today that it “would be a good start” for President Obama to also oust Karl Eikenberry and Richard Holbrooke from his Afghanistan team, in addition to General Stanley McChrystal .
President Obama relieved McChrystal of his duties yesterday, in the wake of a Rolling Stone article that quoted the general and his aides criticizing officials in the Obama Administration, including the President and Vice President.
On Fox News today, Bond was asked whether Obama should also sack Ambassador to Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry and Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, and “muzzle” Vice President Biden when it comes to Afghanistan.
Fox And Friends host Brian Kilmeade asked Bond: “Are you calling for the ouster of General Eikenberry, Ambassador Holbrooke, and for a muzzle to be put on the Vice President when it comes to this war?”
“That would be a good start,” said Bond. “That’s the kind of plan that I hope the President was referring to yesterday when he said we must have the entire team working together.”
