Though Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said last weekend that “the coast is clear” on his state’s beaches despite the oil spill, Jon Stewart wasn’t buying it last night.
“It’s like Barbour is the Mayor from ‘Jaws,'” said Stewart. “He’s like, ‘we’re not closing the beaches during tourist season! The water’s perfectly clear! It’s just a little benzene and tar balls!'”
