After hours of testimony before the House Judiciary Committee and a few jabs from President Trump via Twitter, the former White House counsel to President Richard Nixon told CNN Monday evening that he was “honored” by Trump’s insults.
“Well I’m honored to be on his enemies list, I was able to make Nixon’s at the end, and so I’m pleased that I’m on Trump’s given my feelings about the threat he is to this country,” John Dean told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
Ahead of Dean’s testimony before the Judiciary Committee, Trump lashed out at Dean on Twitter, calling him a “CNN sleazebag attorney.”
He later told reporters Dean’s “doing great” other than being a “loser” who got to “disbarred” and “went to prison.”
Dean testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Monday afternoon as part of a series of panels discussing the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. The hearings come as Democrats grapple with moving forward on impeachment.
