House Democrats are throwing their effort behind a non-binding resolution to pressure the Department of Justice to release special counsel Robert Mueller’s report upon its completion.
According to a Thursday Politico report, Democrats are trying to use the largely symbolic measure to force Republicans to make a public stand on the report’s release.
House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) have also threatened to subpoena Attorney General William Barr or to bring Mueller before their committees, should Barr try to withhold the findings.
