Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk might have bit off more than he could smoke when he took a drag of Joe Rogan’s blunt last year.
According to Bloomberg, the toke could potentially cost him his access to top-secret government information.
A U.S. official told Bloomberg that the Pentagon is currently reviewing Musk’s federal security clearance. When applying for the secret-level access, a federal employee or a contractor must list any illegal drugs they’ve used in the past seven years. While weed is legal in several states, it’s still a federal crime to use or possess it.
Musk holds the top-level security clearance because his company, SpaceX, is authorized to launch military satellites.
