Well, that didn’t last long.
Herman Cain will take his name out of the running for the Federal Reserve Board, according to ABC News.
Per ABC, an “administration official” and a “source familiar with the matter” say that the ex-pizza mogul is expected to announce his decision sometime within the next several days.
The news comes after multiple Republican senators, including Sens. Kevin Kramer (R-ND) and Mitt Romney (R-UT), said they’d refuse to confirm Cain if President Donald Trump did tap him for the position.
“If I had to vote today, I couldn’t vote for Herman Cain,” Kramer told the Washington Post and Bloomberg News. “The allegations that drove him from the presidential race are just so obviously serious.”
