During an interview with President Trump that aired on his show Thursday evening, Fox News host Sean Hannity made a surprising admission: He spoke with Michael Cohen “personally” about the hush money payments at the center of Cohen’s legal troubles.

“I was kinda dragged in a little bit to the Michael Cohen,” Hannity said, after Trump droned on about the “hoax” and “witch hunt.” “As you know, I interviewed him many times on TV. He was never my attorney. He had to apologize to me for his attorney saying that in court, but I can tell you personally, he said to me at least a dozen times that he made the decision on the payments and he didn’t tell you. He told me, personally.”

Shortly after the segment aired on Fox News, Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) responded to the admission, saying he looked forward to Hannity’s “testimony.”

Hannity’s admission in the clip that aired Thursday further entangles the Fox News host in Cohen’s case. During a shocking hearing in the Southern District of New York’s investigation into Cohen’s financial wrongdoings, one of Cohen’s attorneys revealed that Hannity was a client of Cohen’s.
