Less than two weeks after speaking at a conference organized by white nationalist Nick Fuentes, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) tweeted a meme on Monday that referenced Fuentes’ battle cry.

The meme shows a man telling a prostitute to “tell everyone America first is inevitable.”

“#AmericaFirst,” Gosar tweeted with the image.

“America first is inevitable” is Fuentes’ slogan, which he invoked during a speech at a far-right event last year and in a tweet that included a photo of him and Gosar together at his America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) in February:

Former Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who was stripped of his committee assignments when he was in office for questioning why white supremacy was a bad thing, was also at AFPAC and can be seen posing with Gosar and Fuentes in the photo.

Gosar’s office did not respond to TPM’s request for comment on the congressman’s tweet.

The Arizona Republican has come under fire for speaking at AFPAC on February 27, where Fuentes gave a speech fretting over the U.S. losing its “white demographic core” right after Gosar’s panel ended.

The next day, Gosar attempted to distance himself from the white nationalist’s rhetoric, saying he denounced “white racism.”

Republicans have largely remained silent about Gosar’s involvement in AFPAC. House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) was one the few GOP lawmakers to speak out, saying last week that the conference was not an event “members of Congress should be participating in.”
