Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, said Wednesday that the President invited him and other Republicans to the White House this morning to jointly review the memo.
He initially dodged MSNBC host Hallie Jackson’s follow-up questions about who was in the room and whether Trump only invited Republicans, but did not disagree with the premise of her question later in the interview when she asked what he and the other Republicans present thought of Trump’s mood at the time.

Gatez is not the only Trump ally who got an early peek at the White House’s version of Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani also said this morning that he was read the call transcript, though he implied that he got it from the Ukrainians, so it is unclear if the document he read was the same one made public by the Trump administration.
