Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney and contributor Liz Peek shared their spin on the video of world leaders at NATO who appeared to mock President Trump.

During a Wednesday morning segment, Varney disputed a New York Times article that said that world leaders — which included Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron — were laughing at Trump.

Shortly after Varney’s segment, Trump said in Wednesday morning tweets that he canceled his last press conference at NATO at 3:30 p.m.

After Varney said he doesn’t “see it that way,” Peek agreed and argued that the world leaders “were not laughing at Trump,” but that they were “extremely uncomfortable” because he “dominates the show.”

“I think they’re extremely uncomfortable around our President because he comes over there and dominates the show,” Peek said. “Which of those foreign leaders would not happily change place with Donald Trump — with his economy and yes, in fact, his rising approval ratings?”

Peek then said that “the truth is the President has led to a moment in NATO where they have to reassess their commitments” to each other and to the organization and that the world leaders “can’t believe that after 40 years that an American president finally got this done.”

Peek went on to dismiss the world leaders’ apparent mockery of Trump by mentioning how she finds Trump “hilarious a good deal of the time.”

Are they laughing at him? In the same way, possibly that you and I laugh when he says something that is hilarious,” Peek said. “He is hilarious a good deal of the time.”

Peek concluded her take by saying that Trump is “totally right to hold” world leaders’ “feet to the fire.”

“But the sum total of all that disruption, of all that discomfort is that NATO is having to face a lot of important and serious questions and he is totally right to hold their feet to the fire,” Peek said.
