Five more Democrats joined the 90 who have already publicly called for an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump after former special counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony.
According to Politico, the five include Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA), vice chair of the Democratic Caucus and the highest-ranking member to join the movement so far.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, isn’t changing her tune on the issue.
“We have a lot to protect here,” Pelosi told her members behind closed doors after the Mueller hearings. “[Trump] isn’t worth dividing our country.”
The members are now headed back to a six-week August recess, which might put a dent in the pro-impeachment momentum.
