The mood in the White House was especially light over the weekend as a “feeling of euphoria” rushed over the West Wing and led White House staff to celebrate the end of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, according to the Washington Post.

The investigation has been a source of stress in the White House for nearly two years. Aides and associates of President Trump told the Post that the they believe Mueller’s findings — that the Trump campaign did not coordinate with Russia to influence the 2016 election, according to Attorney General William Barr’s report to Congress  — will help remediate President Trump’s reputation as a credible source of information.

Aides also believe the findings will be harmful to Democrats, who “just handed the Trump campaign the greatest election issue in modern political history, on a silver platter,” one former White House official told the Post.

Trump was particularly pleased this weekend as well, and spent his time in Mar-a-Lago golfing with Kid Rock and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and meeting donors.
